Portsmouth Churches, 2010

                                                                               






This project was based on documenting a space. I chose grand churches, to capture the rich, intense detail and this sense of power a church can contain. 

Using a 5x4 Toyo view and a hand printing them myself, I painted light and colour to produce high quality photographs. 

Not being religious myself I wanted to document how I place myself in a holy space and what I instantly look at.  

This series captures the orderliness and symmetrical dynamics of a church. 

Christmas Cards

Since having Dylan I have been creating christmas cards which I send out to my family and friends. I used a studio to create my christmas feel cards. 

Young Mums Forum-2009

                                  

Whilst taking a year out at University I joined a young mum pregnancy group where Dylan and I made new friends. 

The helpers at the group gave me an brilliant opportunity to photograph the children and mums. I took a portable Bowens studio lighting kit and a digital camera. 

I found my first shoot with other children and mums a fantastic experience and gained new photographic skills.

Autobiography Project-First Year Project

I created a small book about my pregnancy and the questions I was faced daily by people concerning me becoming a young mum. I kept a journal throughout the 9 months and recorded the questions and answers as  I grew. Documenting through a Hasselblad I wrote on my tummy and placed myself in places I like to walk to and escape the looks and critizism I faced as a pregnant young mum.

This Is For You is a piece I have dedicated for my son to tell him what I went and still going through as a young mum.
